Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Under general direction, provides support for internal clients on computers, applications, peripheral devices or hardware
- Manages a macOS environment to effectively ensure the most efficient and productive environment providing services to over 160 workstations and servers
- Provides desktop image capability through the use of MDM services
- Develops solutions to be deployed either by scripting or deployment utility
- Maintains current patch level on OS and applications throughout the department
- Works effectively with the IT Service Desk to resolve technology issues that the Service Desk is unable to resolve
- May interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems
- Simulates/recreates client’s problems to resolve operational issues
- Recommends system modifications to improve client satisfaction
- Operates in a project manager role for complex client projects
- Develops strategies and methods to deploy applications, files and settings remotely to end workstations
- Plans, organizes, and implements the deployment of software with the strategic use of Jamf Pro and other macOS deployment tools
- Assists in the planning and implementation of the annual desktop replacement program, image management, application standardization and scripting
- Deploys and administers Macintosh servers
- Responsible for collecting and developing area specific annual budget forecast
- Monitor budget versus actual figures and work with manager to develop strategies to maximize budget spend
- Maintains an accurate hardware inventory
- Maintains currency and highest level of technical skill in field of expertise
- Should act as a mentor to other staff that have less experience
- Documents all procedures and configurations
- Deploys and maintains hardware and software license compliance
- Documents resolution of issues worked
- Provides superior customer service to our clients
- Interacts with internal clients in a professional manner through phone, email or in person
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
Marginal Functions
- Participate in office reorganizations and computer moves
- Supports Microsoft based PCs
- Performs other related projects and duties as assigned
- Provides continuous training on Macintosh based systems to the Service Desk

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field of study or equivalent work experience required
- Apple Certified Support Professional required
- Apple Certified IT Professional preferred
- Comp TIA A+ certification preferred
- Additional certifications beneficial
Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years supporting Macintosh Systems and peripherals
Other Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, team player
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of Macintosh and Microsoft Windows networking
- Working knowledge of macOS 13 to current release
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products of various versions
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products
- Working knowledge of current Microsoft Windows Operating Systems
- Working knowledge of IBM Client Access 400
- Working knowledge of Hewlett Packard laser, ink-jet printers, thermal transfer printers, Canon and high-end color Minolta printers
- Working knowledge of networking hardware technology including, but not limited to network interface cards, Ethernet routers, switches, modems and network cabling
- Possess a firm understanding of networking protocols and how they operate in a complex environment
- Possess working knowledge of Active Directory and its structure
- Must become proficient in Oriental Trading Company, Inc. operational procedures and systems capabilities
- Prior Help Desk experience beneficial
- Ability to travel to other company locations as needed
- Ability to perform job duties in a safe manner
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs
