As our Merchandise Center Screen Printer, you will be responsible for operating screen printing equipment and producing customer-specific decorated product, including t-shirts. You will also be responsible for cleaning, reclaiming and performing other screen maintenance as needed.  Other responsibilities include using the exposure unit, developing screens and plates, and aligning screens for accurate registration.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

1. Operates manual and automated screen printing equipment
2. Sets up multi-color jobs on the manual or automated press
3. Positions film positives, exposes and develops screen or plate
4. Tapes and blocks out perimeter of the screen
5. Checks for and repairs pinholes on the screen
6. Processes designated screens with reclaiming solution to remove stencil emulsion or film, applies haze remover to remove ghosting and degreases new or reclaimed screens
7. Cleans screens, which includes removing ink residue and tape from the screens
8. Performs all screen maintenance, which includes the following:
   • Removal of damaged screen mesh
   • Prepping the screen frame
   • Selecting and cutting mesh to size
   • Stretching screen mesh across the screen to required tension specifications
   • Adhering mesh to the screens
9. Troubleshoots registration issues by aligning the screens and using micro registration
10. Unpacks and repacks printed product
11. Ensures quality control of printed items
12. Trains other operators on the screen printing process
13. Utilizes personal protective devices and other safety equipment as required for personal safety
14. Properly disposes of all hazardous waste
15. Maintain a clean and safe workstation
16. Actively participates in impact-planning sessions and works to improve employee engagement
17. Maintains regular and predictable attendance
18. Abides by all policies and procedures of Oriental Trading Company
19. May be required to perform any of the above functions at any of the company locations

Marginal Functions

1. Supports other MC areas as needed
2. Performs other duties as assigned
3. May include minor preventive maintenance or troubleshooting

• Demonstrated knowledge of mesh counts, mesh tension, squeegee angles and pressure
• Able to print half tones
• Proven analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Basic math skills
• General PC experience
• Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Able to work independently with an eye for detail
• Must be detail oriented and able to work in a highly productive environment in a safe manner

Education

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

• 1-2 years screen printing experience required

Other Qualifications

• Ability to climb stairs, walk and stand for the duration of the shift
• Ability to occasionally lift and move 35 – 40 pounds
